AVOID SUN EXPOSURE
Do not exfoliate with any skin care products, use glycolic or salicylic acids for 1 week before the procedure.
Have something available at home for cooling your skin post procedure, such as frozen peas or cold packs.
You must arrive one hour before the procedure is scheduled to sit with a numbing cream on the area.
You must have a driver the day of the procedure.
You will get an injection of Toredal to help with the pain unless you are allergic to this medication then you will get another type of pain medication. You may take Valium if needed.
Be sure to eat a good breakfast the morning of your procedure.

AVOID SUN EXPOSURE
Typical course of recovery is:
- Day 1-2: Sunburn like redness, some swelling, warmth in the skin.
- Day 3-5: Peeling
Use frozen peas or gel ice packs as needed for swelling and heat discomfort.
Use the ointment multiple times per day as needed to keep skin moist and comfortable. You will need to use the ointment for approximately 3-4 days. It is important to keep the skin moist during healing. We will give a prescription of Biafine to use 2-3 times per day.
Sleep with your head elevated or on a couple pillows to help prevent some of the swelling.
Itching is sometimes felt as the skin begins to repair itself. An antihistamine like Benadryl can be taken for relief.
You may shower and gently wash your face (with finger tips only), the day after the procedure.
Do not exercise, sweat or wear make-up until skin has healed and peeling has finished.
Do not exfoliate with any skin care products, use glycolic, salicylic acids, or retinoids for 4 weeks after the procedure. We strongly recommend using the Neocutis skin care line. This should be started 2 weeks after the procedure. Please let us know so that we can select the appropriate products for your skin.
Make sure you keep your follow up appointments. Dr. Cassis will want to see you at 2 weeks and at 3 months.
